Brittany De Nigris I am currently most interested in the spots where survival and pleasure are indistinguishable from one another.  Both strike me as a prayer towards continuation, while simultaneously needing to be felt at just this moment. I wonder about sustaining  the memory or anticipation of pleasure; a taste or smell, a material doing, touching, a journey.  I am often drawn to materials and processes that relate to preservation: mud, heat, salt; melting, sirring, cooling. Recording video, soaking beans, waiting for onions or porcelain to get to the place where they become translucent.  I have relied as much on the sense-sharpening experience of far-flung landscapes, as I have a chopping board and wooden spoon as means to being enlivened towards persistence.

Nicola Di Caprio (1963) visual artist, drummer, graphic designer and cultural organizer, has exhibited in New York, Paris, London, Istanbul, Vienna, Milan, Venice, Trieste, Rome, Naples etc. Franklin Sirmans, Giorgio Verzotti, Valentina Tanni, Michele Robecchi, Francesco Tedeschi and others have written about him. He played with Ramuntcho Matta, Xabier Iriondo, Sabir Mateen, Davide Rinella, etc. He founded Superteste, WAST, Sparks, RawDuo!. Since 2012 he has been performing “The cosmic child who resides in me smiles mockingly” solo performance between sounds and noises. He was born in Caserta (IT) and he lives in Milan.
