Artisti, ricercatori, filosofi, musicisti e autori di varie discipline sono invitati a scambiarsi suoni via smartphone componendo delle Freesbeesong in un torneo sonoro tra luoghi, persone e attitudini.

Freesbeesong è scambiarsi registrazioni e illustrazioni sonore in tempo reale rispondendo al meglio al suono dell’altro. Una partita con lanci, prese e rilanci reciproci, una conversazione sonora via messaggio palleggiata da luoghi distanti che verrà trasformata in seguito in due brani musicali montati diversamente dai protagonisti.

FreesbeeSong è un gioco che coinvolge lo spazio e il tempo a colpi di suoni, rumori, musica, parole, canti… Le partite avvengono tra due autori/giocatori in luoghi lontani che dialogano a distanza per 120 minuti.

Un primo esperimento di Freesbeesong è avvenuto nel 2018 tra Milano e Metz, nell’ambito di una mostra sull’Abitare alla Triennale di Milano¹⁾ In questa occasione come in una partita a Frisbee dove un giocatore lancia e riceve, coglie la direzione del lancio e ne determina la successiva, Helga Franza e Sophie Usunier, una in Italia l’altra in Francia, si sono palleggiate per due ore brani e suoni provenienti da luoghi differenti sperimentando una conversazione sonora a distanza.

L’iniziativa prosegue adesso a cura delle due autrici con Freesbeesong Match 2020-2021, un vero e proprio incontro internazionale che coinvolgerà di volta in volta autori di differenti luoghi, ambiti e attitudini.

Artists, researchers, philosophers, musicians and authors of various disciplines are invited to exchange sounds via smartphone composing ‘Freesbeesong’ in a sound tournament between places, people and outlooks.

Freesbeesong means exchanging sound recordings and audio illustrations in real time by best responding to the sound sent by the other player. A match with throws, catches and return throws, turned into a sound conversation via smartphone played between distant places, and which will then go on to be transformed into two musical pieces, put together differently by the protagonists.

Freesbeesong is a game that involves space and time, coupling them with sounds, noises, music, words and singing… The matches take place between two creators/players far away from one another and who dialogue at a distance for 120 minutes.

An initial Freesbeesong experiment took place in 2018 between Milan and Metz, as part of an exhibition on living spaces at the Triennale di Milano.¹⁾ On that occasion, like in a game of Frisbee in which one player throws and catches, picking up on the direction of the throw to make the following, Helga Franza and Sophie Usunier, one in Italy and the other in France, passed noises and audio excepts back and forth to one another for two hours, exploring a sound conversation held over a distance.

The initiative now continues, curated by the two creators themselves, with Freesbeesong Match 2020–2021: a genuine international encounter which will involve various creators from different places, with various specialisations and outlooks.
